Farmers Distribution Centre

Location: 20 Laidlaw way, Auckland

Client: Farmers Trading

Project Background:
Farmers, one of New Zealand’s leading department stores was expanding its existing distribution centre and required a complete fit out with safe access ways. This included balustrades and hand railing systems. The modular design of the Moddex system was ideal for the application, its flexibility, efficient construction and versatility meant it could be easily installed without the equipment of hot works permits and the associated safety hazards that come with welding.

Products/configurations used on project:

  • Conectabal - CB10
  • Conectabal - CB30

Why was Moddex product selected?
Owner Warren Brabant was confident in the Moddex system, he and his team found the time to install it themselves, saving both time and money.

The large warehouse required balustrades to cover long expanses, which the robust Moddex system was able to provide without compromising safety standards.

Installation of the stairwells was made much simpler through the flexibility of the modular Conectabal system.

Client comment/feedback:
For typical stair applications, Moddex have made the provision for swivel joins and elbow fittings to easily connect corners around the many flights of stairs installed. “The addition of the swivel joins on the handrail returns just made the install so simple and easy, particularly with the tight turns.”
